Dutch Cousins Gathering 2026
| Greetings Dutch Cousins, YES! Yes, the Dutch Cousins of Kentucky will be Gathering in 2026! We will be meeting at the Kentucky State University’s Benson Research Farm Facility outside of Frankfort, KY on Friday, 11 September and Saturday, 12 September, 2026. Our meals will be catered by Family Affair Catering from Salvisa, a group favorite. On Sunday we will have a worship service at our ancestor’s Old Mud Meeting House outside of Harrodsburg and on Monday the Harrodsburg Historical Society has agreed to host members of our society for a day of research. So, are all the details ironed out…NO. However, the board had a very thoughtful and productive meeting this past Thursday night and numerous decisions were made for us to move forward. First owing to the cost of travel and lodging we have decided to hold our pricing to that of 2024. We simply will have to live within that budget and hopefully come out of this year’s event with our seed money intact. Registration will remain $35.00, spouse/companion will be $15.00, late registration after August 15 will be an additional $10.00. Lunches will be $22.00 and dinners will be $25.00. We still need to do more research on the t-shirts and the tote bags. A block of rooms have been secured at the Hampton Inn for a rate of $159 per night, down from $179. The address is 1310 U.S. 127 South, Frankfort, KY 40601. Contact 502-223-7600 and tell them you are with the Dutch Cousins. Currently we have ten rooms, but the number will be monitored and increased as demand presents. I am setting up a block with the Holiday Inn at 1000 Vandalay Drive, Frankfort, KY for a rate of $129.99 (regular $159). HOWEVER, the contract is not signed as I have some questions about the group’s responsibility in the contract. As for the agenda we decided to have one presentation in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one after dinner presentation on Friday and Saturday. We wanted to allow ample time for people to network and share their family research and history. Please remember we will be having the FAMILY HERITAGE TABLES, so be thinking about honoring your ancestors with a display. And please be thinking of items that you would like to donate to our Silent Auction.
